Credit history

Your credit file contains information about your credit history which lenders refer to as part of the application process. Errors and inaccuracies can have a detrimental effect on lending decisions so make sure the information that is held about you is up to date and correct.

Lenders usually refer to one or more credit reference agencies. They are:-

If the information held on you is inaccurate, you can also notify the agencies with a notice of correction. This is a statement (no more than 200 words) that can be added this to your file to give further information on an entry.

If your credit files shows that you are financially associated to someone which is inaccurate, you can apply for financial disassociation. This is usually done by completing a form. However, be careful because giving inaccurate information could be an offence.
